What is freeze-drying?

Freeze drying is a drying process that removes water from the previously frozen raw material by means of the so-called sublimation, i.e. a direct transition to the vapor state without the liquid state. This process eliminates most of the microbiological contamination, thanks to which the raw material can be safely stored for a long time.

Why freeze-dried fruit?

90% of freeze-dried products retain their natural shape, color and aroma. Thanks to the possibility of carrying out the process at low temperatures, the raw material prepared by the freeze-drying method does not lose valuable vitamins and essential oils.

Meadowsweet - healing properties

The herbal raw material is the aforementioned flowers, which after drying have the following properties:

  • painkillers
  • anti-inflammatory
  • diaphoretic
  • diuretic
  • detoxifying
  • antipyretic

Dry meadowsweet flowers are used to prepare extracts, decoctions and herbal teas that should be drunk during infections (flu or colds), rheumatic diseases or gastrointestinal diseases. It is also known to be used on skin diseases, acne, ulcers or even difficult to heal wounds.

Medicinal properties meadowsweet owes

  • tannins (anti-inflammatory and antibacterial)
  • essential oils
  • a derivative of salicylic acid
  • flavonoids
  • mineral salts
  • phenolic glycosides
  • organic acids
  • vanillin
  • meadowsweet flower pollen contains vitamins B1, B2, C and E.
  • phenolic compounds (coumaric acid, quercetin derivatives)
  • routine - seals blood vessels and prevents the formation of an enzyme that destroys vitamin C, thanks to which it protects it and prolongs its activity

Research has shown that aqueous extracts of meadowsweet inhibit the growth of staphylococcus aureus bacteria - bacteria found in the nasopharynx and on the skin of humans and animals. Human staphylococcal infection can lead to vomiting, diarrhea, drop in blood pressure, shock, and even death. Golden staphylococcus also causes purulent infections of the skin, subcutaneous tissues and soft tissues. However, in the event of an infection, see a doctor, as staphylococci is treated with an antibiotic.

Thyme - properties

In thyme, we find primarily essential oil (which includes terpineol, linalool, thymol, cineol, borneol and bornyl acetate). In addition, we can distinguish flavonoids (flavonoids), B vitamins, vitamins A, C, E and K and minerals (manganese, selenium, iron, calcium, potassium and magnesium). It cannot be denied that the most popular component of thyme is thymol, i.e. essential oil. It is characterized by an antibacterial effect, which is why it is most often used in the preparation of mouthwashes.

In addition, thanks to its expectorant properties, it improves the work of bronchial cilia, which is useful in the case of bacterial infections of the throat and coughs. However, thanks to its antibacterial properties, it works well as a preparation for the treatment of skin lesions, especially acne. The flavonoids found in thyme have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, antispasmodic and antifungal properties.

Minerals also play an important role. Manganese is responsible for the proper functioning of the muscular and nervous systems. Selenium strengthens the immune system and normalizes the work of the thyroid gland. Iron, in turn, is a component of hemoglobin, which transports oxygen, therefore it is needed for the proper development and regeneration of tissues. Calcium is responsible for strong bones, teeth and the acid-base balance in the body. Potassium lowers blood pressure, and magnesium supports the work of the muscular and nervous systems. Thyme is a source of vitamin C, the task of which is to increase the body's immunity and facilitate the absorption of iron. B vitamins contained in this herb, mainly riboflavin, affect normal eyesight and the transformation of amino acids.
